References for the soul

~3/19 HIATUS!!

I will add as many things to the queue as I can. ~

Well uhm..hello there ;u;. This is my art blog~!...Or my first one anyway.. I made a second one since this kind of turned into an unorganized reference blog for myself. I may reblog my art to here or maybe not, I don't know LOL. I'm a tad too intimidated to do that right now, PF.

BUT you're more than welcome to follow just for references or things you find helpful, alright~?
Ignore my ugly art if you ever see it here v u v

The Legend of Korra Art Book,
Pages 10 - 17 for Book 1

[All the text for each page I tried to type out, past the cut. (Things in brackets) are usually stuff I couldn’t read/look up properly.] [By the way, it’s implied that pages 8 and 9 have a spread painting.]

This is great and all, but can we just appreciate the fact that someone drew this for our viewing pleasure:

Glenn Keane said that Pocahontas was one of his more difficult characters because she required a lot of subtlety, which, in animation, is difficult to accomplish. He definitely got that subtlety in the movie.

Lighting Keys 04~

Source: http://clementgriselain.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-lorax-lightingkeys04.html?m=1

  • 1: a perf shot of his hallway to his office. his mom isnt painted. this lighting is beautiful. and the rug being straight but shifting for that desk is a great seussian element, bravo! paintings of trees (i always theorize thats to give the illusion that the environment isnt in trouble. not that its posing as a window just, to give that impression that they are not hurting nature)
  • 2: listen here dad! he looks mighty vicious… but this is for lighting, not for character lol. i love the huge gears and the light on them.
  • 3: factory looks so dark here. beautiful lighting on the floating lorax.
  • 4: unless rock; i love this lighting, lots of blues <3
  • 5: i love this pic. not much to say. i guess i could just say WOW GREAT LIGHTING for all these lol
  • 6: mrs wiggins, but i actually think the colors could be brighter here. although i think this as shes opening the garage so, it should be dull and dark then.
  • 7: thats a great face, ted.
  • 8: grammy and ted on the run, woo~

In the 3rd pic you can see the one tree that he chopped down. The 5th pic depicts the axe hacker that was in the book. In the 6th pic there is a pail hanging from a pulley exactly like the one the Once-ler has on his lerkim. And in the last two pics, migrating barbaloots and a very broken down factory.

Again, thanks to Pluto for the link.
